Cancelling an item

Under the United Kingdom's Distance Selling Regulations you have the right to cancel the contract for the purchase of any item within seven working days of delivery. This applies to all our products. Please package the relevant item securely and send it to us at the returns address: M&I Books, 11 The High Cross Centre, Fountayne Road, London N15 4QN

Please note that you will be responsible for the costs of returning the goods to us unless we delivered the item to you in error or the item is faulty.

Carriage charges

Full details of our carriage charges and services may be found here

Change of Address and other Details

Please remember to inform us of any relevant change of detail as we cannot be held responsible for incorrect details. Always remember to check your details before final submission of your order.

Credit Cards

M&I Books only accept VISA, Mastercard and American Express (Amex) cards. A receipted invoice will always be sent with the goods where applicable. Such invoices will include a credit card receipt where applicable.

Customs Documentation

Invoices and delivery notes despatched with all our orders are considered suitable for customs purposes. Should you require additional copies we are happy to supply them by fax or email at your request.

Delivery addresses

Wherever possible we advise clients that orders should be delivered to an office or other place of work. Company addresses world-wide generally receive a superior and more frequent delivery service than home addresses. They also offer the obvious advantage of being manned during the normal delivery hours of most postal authorities, couriers or delivery companies. If an individual’s name and department is provided along with a company address that name will be included as part of the address on the outside of the parcel as well as being shown on any documentation. Despatch, other than in certain parts of The City of London, is carried out on our behalf by a variety of appropriate third parties. So we regret that we are unable to comply with requests such as one received recently which asked that ‘if I’m out please leave the book in the porch of my nearest neighbour who lives down the hill’. Except for deliveries in the City of London, we are not in direct touch with the person delivering the goods.

Delivery times

Most orders are despatched within two working days, but the processing time of orders is also very much dependent on the volume of work currently being processed and time of day the order is received. It is entirely possible that when a major new work has just been published we will be processing thousands of books which will inevitably slow down all despatch times.

Import Duties, customs charges and customs clearance charges within the destination country: see M&I Books Policy on

If you believe the delivery is overdue, please send an email to sales@mandibooks.com or fax +(0)20 8275 4281 or phone +44(0)20 8275 4295

Prices

Prices are subject to alteration without notice, but we will attempt to notify customers of any alterations prior to processing your order. Prices and publication dates for titles not yet published are provisional and for guidance only.

Privacy Policy & Data Protection

M&I Books does not disclose buyers' information to third parties. Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details for future reference. Data collected via this website is used to:

  • a. Acquire and process customer orders
  • b. Administer and enhance the site and service
  • c. Disclose information to third-parties for despatch and delivery purposes only

Publication Dates

Dates given for all forthcoming publications are for guidance only.

Publications - Back Orders

If your item is not in stock, is reprinting or not yet published, we will back order (record the order) for you and supply when available. You will always have the right to cancel any order up until the despatch date if you would rather not wait.

Publications - Latest Editions

M&I Books never knowingly sell old editions of any title. If we know a title to have been updated from the one specifically ordered we will always supply the latest edition. Some other publishers however are known to update titles without advising existing stock holders of the updates. In such cases it is possible for us to unknowingly sell an old edition. Should such a situation arise we will inevitably do our best to rectify the matter if at all possible.

Receipts

Will always be sent to the invoice address

Taxes and other charges (see also Carriage and Carriage charges)

Most goods and services in the UK are subject to Value Added Tax. Books however are currently zero rated for VAT (Value Added Tax) which means no one will be charged tax on any books supplied unless they include a CD ROM. All orders which are both despatched to and charged to addresses outside the European Union are not subject to VAT charges.

Books supplied with a CD Rom may be subject to an element of VAT. Other items such as CD ROMs and Clauses, Forms or Policies may be subject to VAT in the UK & the European Union The current rate of VAT is 15% as at July 2007.

European Companies should provide their VAT (TVA) registration number where applicable. Please note that M&I Books are unable to deduct or reduce VAT on items charged to EU companies retrospectively if that company fails to provide full and correct VAT details at the time of purchase.

M&I Books Policy on Import Duties, customs charges, tariffs and customs clearance charges within the destination country:

The vast majority of countries worldwide do not charge import duty on books or other educational materials so the question of duties, tariffs and customs charges is only very rarely an issue. It is however our experience that some countries have attempted to charge duty when none is due. In order that you can verify local charges due against particular commodity codes we would advise the Commodity Code for publications is 4901 9900 – also referred to as Harmonization System Code (HS Code).

In the event that any charges are due under local legislation all such charges are and will remain the responsibility of the organisation or individual importing the goods. M&I Books cannot and will not accept liability for any such charges, nor will M&I Books accept liability for the return charges of goods if any charges remain unpaid by the client. If requested to pay any such duties or return charges M&I Books will refuse to do so and instruct that the goods be destroyed. In such an eventuality the responsibility will be with and will remain with the importer.
